At the recent WSO strategic review the World Stroke Campaign was identified as a core strategic activity of the WSO and a strong commitment was made to prioritise public awareness and action as a complement to the organization’s advocacy and implementation programs.
As we begin to plan the year ahead the Campaign Committee is exploring how best to approach the prevention focused campaign theme for World Stroke Day 2023 as well as to plot out how we will continue to address stroke symptom awareness and life after stroke messages in our year-round social media campaigns.
As we work to refine our concept and implementation plan here is what is in store for 2023
This year our World Stroke Day campaign focus will return to stroke prevention, with a specific call to action around identifying and managing hypertension and atrial fibrillation. We aim to collaborate closely with our partners to contribute to their objectives and to deliver a strong impact in terms of identification and management of undiagnosed hypertension and AFib.
We aim to present the World Stroke Day campaign theme and call to action to members in mid-May with design files and campaign guidance available by July and the full public campaign launch on September 30th.
