The two- year WSO Future Stroke Leaders programme will equip a global cohort of early career clinicians and researchers with an in-depth understanding of key challenges in relation to stroke and how these can be addressed within diverse stroke care systems.
The Programme consists of:
- A bimonthly online session
- Face to Face programmes
- Seed funded practical project delivery supported by WSO mentors culminating in the presentation of results and key learning at the World Stroke Congress 2024.
- World Stroke Congresses’ Attendance
- Other WSO engagements like writing articles, groups projects, pre and home work during the programme.
The Future Stroke Leaders programme lead and WSO Past President Prof Werner Hacke said ‘This is an exciting programme that builds on the WSO’s commitment to delivering a diverse community of stroke specialists, equipped with the broad ranging leadership, clinical, research and advocacy skills that are needed to drive the transformation of stroke care’.
The theme of the 2022 intake is “Implementation of Quality Stroke Care’. The curriculum, developed and delivered by the WSO faculty, will span the stroke care continuum from prevention, acute treatment to post-stroke care and will support the development and exercise of key skills including research and peer review, writing for publication, care quality improvement tools, multidisciplinary collaboration, project design and management, and stroke advocacy.
