Developing the WSO Global Stroke Education Strategy
The writing group are busy finalising the report and draft WSO Global Educational strategy based on the WSO Educational needs workshop at WSC Montreal. The draft report will be reviewed by the WSO education committee, and then be presented at a special WSO strategy meeting (to be held just before the ESOC conference in Milan this May). This will help to ensure that WSO delivers the education that fits the needs of its membership and contributes to reducing the global burden of stroke. Watch this space!
Forthcoming Educational Conferences Endorsed by the WSO
Over the coming months there will be many high-profile WSO-endorsed conferences and educational opportunities around the world. These are listed on the WSO website, but here are some highlights. Reports from these activities will be posted on the WSO website in due course (please see the report on WSO-endorsed educational activities in the Philippines last year)
News from the World Stroke Academy
We have started the new year with a flashback to the World Stroke Conference 2018! In the last month, we posted links to the most popular WSC e-posters on our Twitter page and have since seen great public interest. If you haven’t already, find us on Twitter or look for the hashtag #WSCPOSTERS2018 to peruse the poster abstracts.
Besides the social media activity, we are also very excited to announce the release of the first talks from WSC 2018 on the World Stroke Academy portal: Mild Stroke Thrombectomy and Acute Stroke in Low and Middle Income Countries.
We have put together short modules with supplementary content based on these WSC talks and will continue to release selected WSC sessions by stroke experts throughout the year- so stay tuned and follow our progress!
Currently, we are working on another exciting WSA project, namely the completion of a comprehensive module on guidelines for paediatric stroke. We will update you on the status of the module in the next newsletter!
We are always happy to hear from WSO members and hope that we meet your expectations with these newly released modules for further education.
