World Stroke Campaign Awards submission deadline extended to Dec 10th 2024

World Stroke Campaign Awards support WSO to recognize and celebrate the hard work, creativity and commitment of the stroke community when it comes to raising publlic awareness of stroke. They are also an important way for WSO to gather examples of good practice that can be shared with WSO members to help us all improve awareness of stroke in our communities.

There are three award categories for submissions - Best Campaign in a Low- Middle Income Country, Best Campaign in a High Income Country and Individual Achievement Award. Our campaign criteria are set out on the World Stroke Campaign website. The Campaign Committee base their awards decisions on information provided in support of those criteria. Successful campaign entries tend to have the following key characteristics:

They provide evidence of consistency with the WSO campaign theme, brand and key messages.
They reach beyond healthcare institutions into the wider community.
Public awareness activities are carried out in a variety of ways, often in creative or innovative ways.
Public awareness campaign activities are complemented by other strategic activities that seek to support action on stroke.
They provide enough information to allow the Campaign Committee to assess the goals audiences and impact of activities
They provide data on reach and impact - e.g. the type and numbers of people who were reached or participated, number and geographical spread of activities.

The deadline for awards this year is Dec 10th with a winner annoucement being made in early in the New Year.
