The 3rd Thailand Angels Award celebration was held as a hybrid event for the first time on 10th September 2020, with 60 physical attendees in the room (with social distancing measures in place) and 105 joining online. Despite the COVID-19 pandemic, this year’s awards had the highest number of participating hospitals – with 77 stroke centers submitting their data and with 12 centers receiving Thai Angels Awards (1 Diamond, 4 Platinum and 7 Gold).
The event was kicked off with opening speeches by Dr. Satit Pitutacha (Thai Deputy Minister of Public Health), Dr. Somsak Akksilp (Thai Director General of Department of Medical Service) and Prof. Dr. Michael Brainin (President of WSO). The awards were then presented by Dr. Satit to representatives from each hospital, with stroke teams joining the celebration live from their hospitals.
As of Q2 2020, Thailand has a total of 50 hospitals that have been recognized with WSO Angels Awards.
