With 170 events and challenge registrations in 78 countries around the world, October 29th delivered our biggest ever World Stroke Day geographical footprint. We're still measuring the overall reach and engagement for #worldstrokeday and #greaterthan, as well as views of our #GreaterThan video. We do know that content posted to World Stroke Campaign Facebook and Instagram channels acheived an audience of 1 million and 1.5 million respectively. Campaign visibility on social media will have received a significant boost from being championed by high profile online influencers including legendary cycling champion and stroke survivor Alberto Contador (926K followers); Instagram legend, young stroke survivor and Peloton instructor Bradley Rose (179K), Indian cricketing star Varun Chakravarthy (446K) and Colombian movie star Lincoln Palomeque (4.5m) who all shared messages in support of stroke awareness and prevention.
Our press release on October 29th was picked up by hundreds of online and print media outlets, with an online audience of 235 million.
Over 2,100 people signed up to the #GreaterThan Global Challenge and recorded over 15,300 physical activities on the Challenge Hound platform - an incredible global achievement! We'll be announcing our winners in coming days so watch out to find out who has topped our leaderboard and the leaders in each global region.
We'll be preparing our campaign report with more comprehensive data in coming weeks, in the meantime please do send us your reports and photos so we can reflect the energy, commitment and impact of our members and stakeholders around the world.
