As most of us around the world continue to grapple with the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic it is important that we maintain our ability to provide high quality and timely health care for our patients, especially those with stroke. Our ability to do so has been challenged in the current environment and different adaptations to the crisis have been implemented across the world. Evaluating and treating patients with an acute stroke remains a high priority to improve the outcome of the initial stroke and to implement appropriate secondary prevention measures. In partnership with American Heart/American Stroke Association, the WSO is working on an updated guidance document to provide suggestions as to how to maintain quality care during the pandemic. These will appear in print shortly. If the WSO, can be of help to you or your institution, do not hesitate to call upon us.

Achieving our vision of a life free from stroke is a task that WSO cannot achieve alone. We are committed to building our partnerships at the global, regional and national level to scale up and deliver improvements in prevention, treatment and support to reduce the burden of stroke.
