We would like to welcome Thomas Fischer who recently became a WSO Honorary member for his huge contribution to implementation and qualification of stroke centres worldwide. The WSO BoD unanimously agreed that he should receive an honorary membership and it will be a pleasure and an honour to work closely with him.
We are working hard on our implementation task force and the Global Stroke Alliance (GSA) Meetings are a powerful strategy for this purpose. The GSA bring together stroke specialists but also health managers, Ministries of Heath, researchers, public and private hospitals, industry and patients associations discussing the best strategies for implementation and creating action plans in each region. We will have this year in New Delhi, India in September 6 to 8, for South East Asia countries, and one in Punta Del Este, Uruguay in November 23 to 25 for Latin America and Caribbean Countries. Stay tuned for these two important events.
