An important milestone in March was the preparation of the Global Stroke Alliance in Colombia, a world alliance for implementation of public policies for stroke, which will take place alongside the Ibero-American Stroke Congress. I visited Bogotá accompanied by Colombian stroke neurologists in a meeting with the Ministry of Science, Technology, and Innovation, inviting them to participate in the GSA in November to discuss government strategies for funding research and innovation in stroke. Additionally, in a meeting with the Ministry of Health, we planned a partnership with the WSO for the development of the National Stroke Plan and for Stroke Center Certification. There is a great expectation that this initiative will be showcased as a model at this important regional international event, which will bring together Ministers, healthcare managers, stroke experts and researchers from Latin America and Caribbean region.
Additionally, we are preparing the inaugural GSA event in Istanbul, collaborating with iCure Stroke and regional societies to extend efforts into the Middle East region and neighboring countries. We're confident that this meeting will serve as a pivotal initiative in accelerating the implementation of high-quality stroke care throughout the region.
Finally, the World Stroke Congress in Abu Dhabi is being carefully prepared to be a milestone, bringing state-of-the-art of stroke neurology, groundbreaking new clinical trials, innovative training with active methodology for healthcare professionals, and implementation models from around the world.
