World Hypertension highlights resources available to those seeking to address the single biggest risk factor for stroke and announces that Prof Michael Brainin has received a WHL 2022 Excellence Award
Measure Your Blood Pressure Accurately, Control It, Live Longer is this year’s theme to increase high blood pressure (BP) awareness, and especially accuracy in BP Measurement, toward effective treatment of hypertension for a healthy, longer life. Raised blood pressure is the biggest single contributing risk factor to global health.
To mark the day WHL announced their WHL 2022 Excellence Award Winners for outstanding contributions to Global Hypertension Prevention and Control. Among this year's award winners are WSO Past-President Prof Michael Brainin received the Daniel Lackland Award for Excellence in Diplomacy and Advocacy in Population Hypertension Risk Reduction.
Additionally, the results of the Children’s Art Program have been posted on the WHL website, dedicated this year in memory of Dr. Edward J. Roccella for his role in the WHL Children’s Art Program. Thank you to all the children and their sponsors from around the world for such great artwork highlighting hypertension prevention and awareness in youth.
