WSO is committed to improving outcomes for stroke, by ensuring that patients worldwide get access to stroke care that optimizes their survival and recovery. As part of this work, we partner with the ANGELS Initiative, to increase the number of patients treated in stroke ready hospitals and to optimize the quality of treatment in all existing stroke centres.
The WSO Angels Awards aims to:
- Provide practical support to improve stroke care globally
- Recognize and promote best practice in stroke care
- Share key learning around implementation of quality stroke care.
The first WSO Angels Awards were presented at the WSO Regional Congress in Manila in October, 2020.
We are pleased to report that a total number of 278 WSO Angels awards were distributed in 2020. They were divided as follows, 149 Gold, 77 Platinum and 51 Diamond.
The top five countries are Thailand, Vietnam, South Korea, India and Malaysia.
