Training: Graduated with Bachelor Degree of Physiotherapy at Divine Word University-PNG, in 2013. Completed 2 years of internship under PNG National Department of Health at Port Moresby General Hospital from 2013 March to 2015 March. Completed MSc in Physiotherapy Degree with a research component focusing on stroke clinical guideline from University of Otago-New Zealand in 2020. Currently admitted to do PhD in Stroke Epidemiology at Auckland University of Technology-New Zealand.

Research Areas: Stroke Epidemiology, Stroke Prevention (Primary & Secondary) and Neuro Rehabilitation/ Motor Recovery Post Stroke.

Awards:

  • 2024: awarded Manaaki New Zealand Scholarship to fund proposed PhD study to be undertaken at Auckland University of Technology, on stroke surveillance and organization of stroke care in Papua New Guinea.
  • 2024: awarded conference travel & accommodation fund from Port Moresby General Hospital to attend the 2024 Asia Pacific Stroke Conference in Adelaide-Australia.
  • 2024: awarded an Educational Sponsorship from Boehringer Ingelheim to attend workshops & networking events at the 2024 Asia Pacific Stroke Conference.
  • 2023: awarded AUT FHES Doctoral Scholarship to undertake PhD study in Auckland University of Technology-National Institute of Stroke and Applied Neurosciences by 2024.
  • 2022: awarded conference travel & accommodation fund from Port Moresby General Hospital to participate at the 14th World Stroke Congress in Singapore.
  • 2018: awarded New Zealand Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade Scholarship to do MSc in Physiotherapy from 2019-2020.

  • 2024 – present: Currently awaiting nomination by Professor Timothy Kleinig to join the Australia and New Zealand Stroke Organization. Verbal nomination done.

  • 2021 – Pasifika Medical Association Member.

In Private: She enjoys time alone and embraces solitude; prefers indoors/less crowded place; loves journaling or wander off with good music/podcast as her sweet escape from life’s hustle and bustle. She’s a voracious reader, a deep thinker and a passionate humanitarian.
