I am a Clinical Academic specialising in Geriatric and Stroke Medicine. Currently, I serve as a Clinical Research Fellow at the University of Oxford and a Doctor of Medicine candidate at Kellogg College, University of Oxford since 2023. Alongside this, I hold a senior registrar position in Geriatric and General Medicine at Thames Valley Deanery, with a subspecialty interest in Stroke Medicine.
I earned my medical degree with Honours in 2015 at the University of Leicester, following an an Intercalated BSc with Honours in 2012. My early career included an NIHR Academic Foundation Programme position at the University of Southampton from 2015 to 2017. From there, I moved to Oxford for an NIHR Academic Clinical Fellow in Geriatric Medicine position between 2017-2020 at Thames Valley Deanery. During this period, I obtained a Postgraduate Diploma in Health Research with Merit from the University of Oxford.
My research is dedicated to improving the inpatient care of acute stroke patients. Specifically, I am working on the development of a prediction model for clinical deterioration following acute stroke by leveraging clinical and imaging data. My academic research work is supported by the National Institute for Health Research (NIHR) Oxford Biomedical Research Centre. Additionaly, I am employed part-time at Brainomix Ltd, a University of Oxford spin-off imaging company. In this role, I work within the CoreLab to improve the clinical validation of approved imaging biomarkers.
During my professional career, I have served as Chair of the Cochrane UK and Ireland Trainee Advisory Group managing a group of cross-specialty trainees. I held the Cochrane UK Fellowship from 2021 to 2022, developing and delivering training and engagement opportunities nationally. I was awarded an international prize at the European Society of Neurosonology and Cerebral Haemodynamics in 2013 and have been presenting and publishing internationally since 2012. I am a member of the World Stroke Organization (WSO) and serve as an invited reviewer for multiple international journals in Geriatric and Stroke medicine.
Outside of my professional life, I live in a small village outside of Oxford, where I am a father of two young boys. I enjoy jogging, football and cricket.
