Juen Kiem Tan is a clinical lecturer and neurology fellow at the National University of Malaysia, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. He graduated from Manipal University in 2011 with a degree in medicine, completed his Masters in Internal Medicine at the National University of Malaysia in 2020, and became a Member of the Royal College of Physicians, MRCP(UK) in 2023. He is currently undergoing subspecialty training in neurology.
He was awarded the Malaysian Society of Neurosciences Young Investigator Award (Clinical Category) in 2022 for publications. In addition, he has presented in several local and international congress and has been actively involved in publishing since 2020. His main areas of interest are neurocognition and dementia, including post-stroke dementia, delirium, and cerebral small vessel disease. His ongoing research focuses on identifying predictors of cognitive impairment in patients with intracerebral haemorrhage.
He is an active member of several professional organizations, including the Malaysian Society of Neurosciences, European Society of Cardiology Stroke Council, American Academy of Neurology, Japan Neuroscience Society, International Parkinson and Movement Disorders Society, and Alzheimer's Association International Society to Advance Alzheimer’s Research and Treatment (ISTAART). He is involved in teaching and examining both undergraduate and postgraduate students at his institution.
Outside of work, he enjoys reading, cooking, gardening, music, and eating good food. Despite his age, he still tries to play football every weekend.
