Member Bio

Training: She graduated in 2012 with an honor degree from the Faculty of Medicine at the Universidad
of Buenos Aires. She completed her neurology residency at the Hospital General de Agudos J. M. Ramos
Mejía, where she started her research in neurogenetics, with focus on small vessel disease and
mitochondriopathies. She did a stroke observership at Presbyterian Columbia Hospital in New York city,
where her sponsors were Randolph Marshall and JP Mohr. Once she completed his training as a
neurologist, she completed a two-year fellowship in Vascular Neurology at Fleni with Dr. Sebastián
Ameriso.
Research Areas: She has a particular interest in implementing stroke care systems. She is one of the PI
of the CABOS project, which aims to establish stroke networks with thrombolysis-capable centers in
Bolivia, Nicaragua, Honduras, El Salvador, and Guatemala. Her research also focuses on small vessel
disease; she is an active member of the global CADASIL consortium and founded CADASILar, a registry
for CADASIL patients in Argentina. Additionally, she is deeply committed to addressing gender disparities
in stroke care. As a researcher, she has served as a sub-investigator in numerous international studies,
including SOCRATES, Young-ESUS, THALES, AXIOMATIC-SSP, ENRICH-AF, and OCEANIC-Stroke.
Professional: She has been a member of the Board of Directors of the Ibero-American Stroke
Organization since 2022 and has been an active member of the Stroke Working Group of the Argentine
Neurological Society since 2014. She is also a member of the World Stroke Organization, where she
contributes to the Implementation Task Force and the Education Committee. In 2022, she founded
ALATAC (Alianza Joven Latinoamericana contra el ACV) and was elected its president. She actively
participates in the Argentinian Committee for the Certification of Stroke Centers in Latin America and
serves as a member of the Board for Stroke Center Certification across the region.
