Jussara Baggio is a physiotherapist and professor at the Federal University of Alagoas, Brazil.
Training: Jussara Baggio graduated with a Bachelor of Physiotherapy from the State University of Londrina in 2004. She then pursued specialization in neurological rehabilitation (2005-2007) and subsequently completed both a master's and a doctorate in neurosciences at the University of São Paulo (2007-2014).
Research: Jussara’s doctoral work involved research on postural control and the perception of verticality in stroke patients. Since then, she has been actively engaged in research within the field of stroke rehabilitation. She coordinated the Brazilian Early Stroke Rehabilitation Task Force, a group of stroke experts developing clinical protocols for stroke rehabilitation in Brazil. She also participates in international studies and is a member of the WSO Rehabilitation Implementation Group.
Professional: Jussara is an associate professor at the Federal University of Alagoas, Brazil, where she teaches human anatomy and supervises master's and undergraduate research students. She is also a volunteer at Ação AVC, an association dedicated to stroke patients in the state of Alagoas, Brazil.
Publications: She has published more than 15 papers in PubMed indexed national and international journals.
In Private: Jussara lives in Maceió, Alagoas, with her husband and their two children, Augusto, 9 years old, and Heloisa, 6 years old. She loves spending time with family and friends and enjoys the beautiful beaches of Alagoas.
