I graduated with a Bachelor of Occupational Therapy (Honours) in 2012 and worked clinically thereafter in neurosciences at Alfred Health, Melbourne. My NHMRC-funded PhD focused on understanding how to implement evidence from research into the everyday practices of rehabilitation clinicians. Following the completion of my PhD in 2020, I was a Research Fellow in the Department of Neurosciences at Monash University, where I supported several large externally-funded clinical rehabilitation trials in stroke and brain injury.
I am currently the Allied Health Research and Knowledge Translation Lead at Peninsula Health and a Lecturer in the Department of Occupational Therapy, Monash University. My postdoctoral research focuses on improving the implementation of evidence-based practices in healthcare, with a particular emphasis on stroke rehabilitation and alternative models of care. I am passionate about bridging the gap between research and clinical practice and to facilitate this work, I hold positions as the Deputy Co-Chair of the Stroke Foundation Guideline Content Steering Committee, and serve as a member of the Clinical Quality Improvement Committee for the Australian Stroke Clinical Registry (AuSCR), and the Allied Health Translational Research Advisory Committee (AHRAC) at Monash University. My work involves collaborating closely with clinicians, stroke survivors, and healthcare organizations to develop and test innovative rehabilitation approaches. I am committed to advancing stroke care and creating systems that support effective, person-centered outcomes.
