Dr. Seblewongel was born in Bahir Dar, Ethiopia. She attended and graduated in Medicine from the University of Gondar. She completed her neurology training at Addis Ababa University. She takes part in the establishment of a stroke units in Ethiopia as a coordinator of the WSO-African task force. She was able to present their achievement at Global Stroke Alliance 2022, in Sao Paulo, Brazil. She also attended multiple national and international seminars, courses, and conferences.  She completed an online fellowship in Stroke and Vascular Neurology from the Association of Physicians of Pakistan Descent North America program.

Currently, she is serving as the vice president of the Association of Ethiopian Neurologists where she is working on different activities at the national level.
